The Fenghuang Island Ecological Tourism Zone in Yangzhou has a total area of 225 hectares, a water area of 136 hectares, and a land area of 89 hectares. It integrates the rich canal culture and unique Shaobo Lake style, possessing natural wetland elements such as "water, islands, forests, and birds", and has ecological characteristics such as "strange, beautiful, green, and secluded". As a leading area for the construction of the Jianghuai Ecological Corridor, the scenic area is known as the "green lung" of Yangzhou and the back garden of the city. Since its establishment, it has successively become a national AAAA level tourist attraction, national wetland park, and national water conservancy scenic spot. It is an ecological scenic area with unique cultural taste that integrates tourism, scientific research, exhibition, education, and leisure.

There is a tall mound in the southwest of Tai 'an, which had no name before. Later, the phoenix in the sky passed by here and rested on the pier. When people saw it, they called the pier Phoenix Pier. It is said that a phoenix never falls to a worthless place, but no one has ever seen what treasures there are in this mop. One day, a "don't treasure back son" from the pier led out a buffalo, buffalo excrements into gold particles, gecko dam on both sides of the town to see the stone gecko, also to phoenix pier treasure. In order to permanently block them, the phoenix reluctantly pulled a colorful feather from the body into the water, between the gecko dam and the Phoenix pier, this feather has subsequently become a long and narrow island - Phoenix Island.
